Canterbury Village Stores

Historical Olde World Canterbury Village displays a wealth of worldly treasures. As it was developed by Stan Aldridge and his family, they included an outstanding array of artifacts and antiques collected from their world wide travels.

The stores at Canterbury Village are a collection of unique shops which carry a variety of unique items. Six of the stores are located west of the original Haddril House and were part of the original Scripps Farm Managers homes built between 1922 - 1923. The original Saddle Horse Barn, built in 1922, is now home to Whittington's Clocks and Home Accents. Visit all these stores for great gift items.

The Great Lakes Market Place
(Canterbury Store building - Suite A) The Great Lakes Market Place

The Great Lakes Market Place is the vision of John W. LaCroix, Jr. who in 2010 created the Great Lakes Artisan Village, a premiere retail establishment in the state of Michigan specializing in everything Michigan made. The Artisan Village provided a unique quality venue to showcase the talents of exceptional artists who shared a single passion: to bring you the best Michigan has to offer in metal and woodworking, painting and sculpture, literature and glass blowing, as well as an array of pottery, basket weaving, floral designs and exquisite jewelry. John soon learned that art was not enough, so in the fall of 2011, The Great Lakes Market Place was born. Moving into a larger building in Holly, Michigan the Great Lakes Market Place made Michigan food products its focus and brought the Artisan Village, with its 70 plus artists, under the same roof creating a wonderful synergy for customers looking for that special gift for any occasion. The Great Lakes Market Place now looks forward to expanding its locations, allowing these great Michigan businesses and artists the opportunity at broader success.

Come and see what makes this store so special! Open now at Canterbury Village, Lake Orion, Michigan.
